Lord! Why, why all this pain?

A few months ago I asked the Lord. “Lord, why did I have to grow up with so much pain?  When I look at this world there are so many “whys”. In the bible You regularly explained something with comparisons. Can you please tell me a story so that I can understand my life a little better?

His answer came so quick through visions and impressions. “My child, take a baby that was born with crippled legs. He didn’t do anything to deserve that. This child couldn’t understand why he was not like other normal kids, he couldn’t play like them. With the years he grew more lonely, felt more worthless. He admires all the other kids. How he wish he could be so perfect and happy like them.

This little kid has a Dad (in this story, our Heavenly Father) who loves him more than Himself. He had a plan and a purpose for this child. Every day He encouraged the boy in every way He could. He taught him that he can do everything for himself. Yes, it will take time, it will be difficult, but in the end he will realize this “why”. Sometimes the boy got so angry: “Dad! You don’t love me anymore! It's just too difficult to try walking on my own. You don’t know the pain I have to go through. Please carry me; I can’t take this pain anymore!" The Dad just kept encouraging him, "My dear child, I love you so much and I feel every pain you are going through. I love you too much to start carrying you. I know that you can do this. There is a deep strength inside of you that you are not aware of. I know you will get through this."

After a few years the boy could walk on his own. He wasn’t just like other children, he learned to endure and to keep going no matter what. He was strong and brave - a real overcomer. He had a deep empathy and a desire to help others that went through difficult times.

Now he knows he doesn't always have to understand all the whys, he just trusts and believes His Heavenly Dad knows best. His Dad always takes a negative and changes it into a positive. Now, when the difficult times come, the boy even becomes excited, because he knows that growth is coming with it.
